It makes sense. My bed's a double and Brian's bed is a twin. If we had a fight and both started in my bed (or even if I decided I was just uncomfortable), I'd probably go sleep on the couch rather than his bed, too.
I remember the last time I volunteered at NoBrandCon. I said or did something that made Liz say "Wow, you're really a bitch". I half wondered what had changed since she'd known me and how she missed that this whole time.
