I decided to do Wallpapers of the UnCONventional cast in my normal art style. This image popped into my head, so I decided to start with it.

I call it simply "Lynn in Winter"

Click For Large Version

I will be doing images like this of all the members of the main cast eventually, and then possibly larger secondary characters like Awesome Roy.

That's cool and all but Katie's car looks nothing like that.

Why would Lynn's car look anything like Katie's car?

No one has, in the history of this comic, ever suggested that Lynn is based off of Katie in any way (mostly as Lynn's first public debut in her previous appearance in Full Circle was almost a year before I ever MET Katie)

Unsuccessful troll is unsuccessful.

Tara, on the other hand, probably drives a red Pontiac Sunfire coupe.

As if her car were that nice.

I was thinking a mid-nineties Toyota 4runner for Tara Razz

(Kidding)

For the record, Lynn's car is a 1986 Mercury Grand Marquis.

Or was it more successful than I could have hoped?

Anyways, i really like the background. Although the art style of the background looks a lot different than the foreground. Out of curiosity, did you draw the background on an art program and then hand draw the foreground?

The background is actually a photo that's been manipulated slightly. You can find the location used for Eau De Puanteur in downtown Eau Claire.

The foreground is actually two drawing digitally meshed - the car in snow is a separate element from Lynn herself.

No, actually.

I'll let you figure it out -- but here's the full source image:

No no no... she's waaaaay more screwed up than I am. Razz I can see how you'd get to that conclusion based on her appearance in UnCONventional, but there's a lot more to her than that which makes us different.

I plan on doing a limited length comic separate from UnCONventional exploring her background. Once you read that, I don't think anyone will ever accuse Lynn of being anyone other than Lynn. Razz

It won't be a prequel. It will just include some flashbacks at the beginning.

The plan is to have it run along side UnCONventional for a while. I just have a couple darker stories I want to write with these characters that would drag UnCONventional down (as I want to keep that strip funny)

Wait, dark side story?

Lynn isn't going to be the Frank-Miller-Must-Have-a-Hooker-with-a-Heart-of-Gold trope is she? Razz

I can promise you that at no point has Lynn ever been or will be a hooker.

It's okay, it can't be any worse than my Pher/Yushi slashfic, where You're a Hooker with a Heart of Gold and Yushi is a hard boiled detective trying to protect you from the mob...

...with his penis.

Yushi keeps trying to get me to play that game with him anyways.
