Yes, it will be public domain, with specific clauses. Forgive me if I used the wrong term, I'm not the one in charge of the final script. _________________ Here we are. Earth. Full of things, as usual. |

Grandmother's Cookie Recipes usually are delicious -- that's why they stuck around long enough to be passed down.
No one ever passes down the terrible recipes.

Well, it's true I have the 8 Gig version, but since it's replacing my old Casio PocketPC, I don't mind going from 512megs of storage for portable music to 8 gigs...
...that and honestly -- how many days worth of music do I need in my pocket? I honestly consider wiping out a lot of music on my harddrive, I don't need all of it on my iPod.
Seriously though, this thing is my dream device. It's a portable media player that I can check the web on. It reduces the amount of places I need to take my full laptop (like when I check e-mail on vacation).
But I've yet to come up with a name for this thing though. I've had several ideas, but none that really clicked with me... hmmm... _________________ Why aren't you reading UnCONventional (the awesome comic) yet? |

true, true. but i like having all of my music with me (and just some selections of artists could easily fill most of 8 gigs) and not having to whittle it down, even if i don't listen to it all. 'tis just what i like to do. and you'll figure out a name. i was going to suggest my great uncle's name, but i've forgotten it...(he was a priest, so he had a diff name than his birth given one)
the weather sucks. there was ANOTHER accident in the same spot on the hill near my place. stupid people. *shakes head* it's snowy and slippery and my car did not have much fun trekking up the small unplowed hill to my street. it was not happy at all.
food time! |

Holy hell, 8 gigs is more than enough for me. I got an ipod nano for Christmas, and I only have 3 gigs of music on my computer. Of that, I don't really listen to too much. _________________ mrow *purr* |

I probably have like 12 gigs of music on my computer, but I'm working on wiping out a lot of those. _________________ Why aren't you reading UnCONventional (the awesome comic) yet? |

See, I don't need all that crap from a music player.
It plays music? Sweet. Though lately my mp3 player has started to die.
What do you kids suggest? (and I hate ipods, so don't go there)
And, sirs and madams, 2 gigs is more then enough for me. _________________ omgwtfcat is my friend. |

I don't know - I never got excited over a simple MP3 player. I wanted a pocket sized Internet Machine.
Apple just decided to call theirs an MP3 player (I was deciding between the iPod Touch, the Nokia N800 and the Nokia N810)
Why do you hate iPods so much though? They're pretty reliable and easy to use, and the new Nano is fairly sweet. If you really DO want to avoid them, I hate to say it but the Microsoft Zunes are pretty good, and if you can find a used/clearanced first Generation Zune, you can get them for pretty cheap. I wish I could tell you more, but I just haven't researched dedicated music players. _________________ Why aren't you reading UnCONventional (the awesome comic) yet?

I've actually been looking at a Zune. My Sansa is in the middle of dying on me.
It makes me quite sad. _________________ omgwtfcat is my friend. |

Well, if you're thinking Zune, do it now while those heavily discounted first generation players are still out there. They might not have all the fancy bells and whistles of the second generation, but they'll work more than adequately as MP3 players _________________ Why aren't you reading UnCONventional (the awesome comic) yet? |

I just got a Sansa and am quite happy with it, but the tone of your post implies you're looking for something different, therefore I have no real advice.
You're on the right track staying away from iPods, though - they're underpowered technology for pathetic hipsters. You know, imho. _________________ It'd be cool if you checked out my band.
