Poetry: Soul of Glass
by Vanessa Gertz
Leaves turn over the slumber of my days as I wait.
A girl made of glass doesn't melt under the heat.
Thoughts carry promise, promise brings warmth, Here I am left un-shattered.
Wish upon a star, Reflect upon a day, Wish your day's present not gone, FEEL.
Feel at all cost. Pain brings reminders of the fragil- ity of my soul, Of my soul made out of glass.
Bulletproof, weapon-proof, weather welcoming soul made of glass, Reflects upon an image cast by the water.
Earth is to earth as water is to ice, A girl made of glass finds her place.
A scratch may scratch and your needle may crack, My soul made out of ice.
But live on I must, Always I must, Fight on... for this girl shan't be made glass.
