Langland should have created this, as he finished off the old thread -- but he snoozed, so he losed.
...or something.
Anyways - New thread.
In other news, my website has been wonky today, and that makes me sad. _________________ Why aren't you reading UnCONventional (the awesome comic) yet? |

I came home excitedly hoping my Dalek Supreme had come in the mail. Instead I was just very cold and completely without my racist alien buddy. |

So it was revealed yesterday by Warner Bros. that:
Anne Hathaway will playing Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises
and Tom Hardy will be Bane.
But just curious. Did anyone think Bane would be a possible villain in any of Christopher Nolan's Batman adaptations? I know that Nolan was into making his villain appear more realistic in the sense they could be people who could exist IRL.
Just wondering. |

Well, Bane in the comics is a pretty interesting character -- he's as smart as Batman, but is also using chemical enhancements to make himself stronger. All you have to do to make him more realistic is just to not make him as HUGE, and he's a pretty good nemesis for the Bat.
(And I prefer to pretend his appearance in "Batman and Robin" never happened... in fact, I like to pretend that film never occurred in the first place) _________________ Why aren't you reading UnCONventional (the awesome comic) yet? |

That's fine Bane from that film can be disregarded just like Twoface from Batman Forever can too.
I think Bane probably is going to look more like a body builder but what I am also wondering between him and Catwoman, whose going to be the primary villain and whose going to be the minor one. |

There was a Batman Forever? And what is this Batman and Robin? Surely Jim Carrey, Tommy Lee Jones, and AHnold never did any Batman movies...
/sarcasm
So seriously, I wanna see Nolan Bane really bad now. If any villain needs to be done justice, he's it. |

Am I the only person who like Batman Forever? Sure, it wasn't as good as the two Burton flicks, but on it's own it can be pretty enjoyable. _________________ Why aren't you reading UnCONventional (the awesome comic) yet? |

My opinions on Forever are mixed. I just didn't like their Twoface.
To me the first Tim Burton one is the best. I liked that one. Joker was great in that one and to be honest both that film and The Dark Knight are equally great. |

I don't like giving presentations, and I have a few more to do this semester. Today was exacerbated by the fact I haven't been up in front of a crowd by myself for a very long time and I could tell my voice was shaky. Argh. _________________ “If a man is a minority of one, we lock him up.†|

I'm not a fair comparison for "everybody," I tend to be pretty harsh on movies, and yet loving of silly things for their comedic value. (see: The Spirit) My parents only let me see one Batman movie the year Forever came out, I went with Mask of the Phantasm, and I have no regrets.
Itsatrap, I wish I had better advice for presentations, but I'd say if you have to present something, just remind yourself that while you're up there, you're the authority on it. Whatever you have to say, take a deep breath before you're up there and say it with confidence. |

Unfortunately the biggest part of being comfortable presenting is practice (which is why almost every class requires it) but it does help a lot to remind yourself that you know this stuff! You worked on the presentation, gathered the information, studied it, and none of your classmates have. Even if someone happens to know a thing or two on the subject, you've still had a more recent review of it. Also remember that everyone else who has to present is just as terrified as you are, and you're all suffering together. _________________ mrow *purr* |
