3DO To Go
3DO To Go is a series of videos about the oft forgotten 3DO console of the mid-nineties. From reviews of games to the occasional specials detailing interesting trivia and history of the 3DO - you just might find yourself picking one of these things up.

Produced in partnership with RisingStuff.com

Below you'll find a strange array of funny videos that I've produced over the last several years. Some are thoughtful satires of subjects that operate on many levels, while others are just videos of Vinnk in a dress. The latter tend to be funnier than the former for most people, but there's no accounting for taste.

Lt. Snorkel - Dear Enoby (Darkness Dementia Raven Way)
Lt. Snorkel - Dear Enoby (Darkness Dementia Raven Way)A song based loosely on the My Immortal Fanfic and *heavily* based on the (My) Immortal Webseries based off said Fanfic. So it's a song, based on a webseries, based on a fanfic, based on a movie, based on the Harry Potter books.

Footage heavily lifted/swiped from (My) Immortal the webseries: myimmortalseries.com
Lt. Snorkel - I Lost My Heart To A Starship Trooper
Lt. Snorkel - I Lost My Heart To A Starship TrooperThe Lt. Snorkel version of what is likely the weirdest song ever to come out of the 1970s (originally performed by Sarah Brightman and Hot Gossip). This version is off of the (free) 2012 Lt. Snorkel album "Mistakes I Made On Purpose."

You can download this track (and the rest of the album) for free at the album page.
Inspector Spacetime 1981 Opening
Inspector Spacetime 1981 OpeningThe full opening that accompanied the first two seasons of the Fifth Inspector's tenure on Inspector Spacetime.

Okay, so Inspector Spacetime is actually (and quite obviously) a spoof of Doctor Who that originated in NBC's sitcom Community. This video is, frankly, a purposefully shoddy imitation of the Peter Davison era opening.

(The starfield effect used in this video is used under the Creative Commons License, and more information can be found here)
Inspector Spacetime 1962 Opening
Inspector Spacetime 1962 OpeningClean version of the Opening Titles Sequence that accompanied First Inspector episodes of Inspector Spacetime, featuring the classic "Yell-about" effect first seen on the episode "An Uneven Breakfast"

Okay, so Inspector Spacetime is actually (and quite obviously) a spoof of Doctor Who that originated in NBC's sitcom Community. This video is, frankly, a purposefully shoddy imitation of the howlaround Hartnell opening from Doctor Who's early seasons.
Lt. Snorkel - (Do You Wanna Date My) Avatar
Lt. Snorkel - (Do You Wanna Date My) AvatarFresh from the EP "Inverse Proportions," this is the Lt. Snorkel cover of Felicia Day's (Do You Wanna Date My) Avatar. The footage is randomly from outtakes from the No Brand Apocalypse videos I did for No Brand Con 2010.

This song was recorded in an afternoon while I was working on the Inverse Proportions EP because I felt like goofing around. Like all things I've created, the only excuse I have is that I was really bored at the time.
A Terrifying Resemblence
A Terrifying ResemblenceSeparated at Birth? A New Identity for a Mad Man? Find out who I think Peso REALLY is in this very short, absolute complete waste of time. I have no idea why I made this, and frankly it's stupid. You probably shouldn't watch it now that I think about it
Ask Executron (Episode 1)
Ask Executron (Episode 1)In this new web series, Executron (evil robot villain mastermind and arch-nemesis of Duct Tape Boy) answers your questions. His advice may not always be the best, it's still advice none the less. If you'd like Executron to answer *your* question, just e-mail executron@nobrandcon.org and he just might do that!

Produced for NoBrandCon.com
Lt. Snorkel - Koshuudenwa (公衆電話)
Lt. Snorkel - Koshuudenwa (公衆電話)The Lt. Snorkel cover of 1337band's Koshuudenwa, in a much more electro pop style. Recorded one afternoon in a fit of pure boredom, the music video features Vinnk and Peso in footage from the original and still awesome 1337Band version.

It is, of course, subtitled with the exact same translation as the original version (for better or for worse).
Silent Night
Silent NightFor this particular musical experiment I yet again bring out the Guitar Hero controller another time and use it as a MIDI instrument (as an acoustic guitar instead of an electric) to do a version of Silent Night. Nothing fancy really, but just a little bit of fun. Happy Holidays everyone.
Deck Us All With Boston Charlie
Deck Us All With Boston CharlieAs a Greeting for this Holiday season, I decided to dust off an old Pogo variation of one of my favorite Christmas Carols... Deck the Halls. I accompanied myself using my Guitar Hero Controller as a simple MIDI instrument (of course).
Happy Wednesday - Dead Birds (Live at Daisho Con)
Happy Wednesday - Dead Birds (Live at Daisho Con)Live at Daisho Con 2008, this is Happy Wednesday's "Dead Birds." Normally Happy Wednesday has a drummer, but last minute he was unable to come - so we worked around it for this performance.

Find more at Happy Wednesday's Website
The Tambodance!
The Tambodance!Vinnk and his brother Ken were dancing in a very, very, very spastic way during Vinnk's American Wedding Reception... so I decided to film it and place appropriate music to the piece. So, as the brother's Tambornino dance on... I present, the Tambodance!

Music in this entry is a Lt. Snorkel track called "New Horizon" and is available for download on the Lt. Snorkel Myspace page.
The Peso Political Attack Ad
The Peso Political Attack AdSo, someone decided to put up a "which Admin is the best" poll on No Brand Con's website. I'm a little behind in the polls, so I decided to create this short little attack ad against Peso (who is currently winning) to see if I can tip the balance. It's a little context driven, but I think that it's a fairly funny mockery of campaign ads. You can view the poll that inspired the ad in this thread.
Happy Wednesday, Live at No Brand Con 2008
Happy Wednesday, Live at No Brand Con 2008This Video is the Entirety of Happy Wednesday's performance at No Brand Con 2008. The set features "Dead Birds," "His Tentacled Glory," "SANDWICH!," and more.

This performance is also available, in it's entirety, on CD for purchase.
The Calvsie Dance
The Calvsie DanceThis is a video of Calvsie dancing.

Seriously. It's just a video of Calvsie Dancing. For 42 seconds. 42 seconds that you'll never get back -- and no, I don't feel guilty. Calvsie just started dancing like this at Topher and Nicole's wedding reception, and I just couldn't help myself from laughing... so I had to share it with the rest of the world.

Music in the video is provided, of course, by myself and a heavily sampled To Slay Zombie Newton.
Run Time: ~.75 Minutes
News of the World! February 2008
News of the World! February 2008Run Time: ~1 minute
Description: News of the World! Returns to bring you the most important news of the day. This installment covers the presidential primaries. McCain! Obama! Clinton! Zombies!

...Zombies?

Apparently Zombies.

This was done using various pieces of public domain footage, and like the previous News of the World emulates an Old-Timey Newsreel.

Whether I'll do more of these I'm not sure, but I wanted to do at least one more before I put the concept to rest.
The Fourth Squashing of America (Alpha Edition)
The Fourth Squashing of America (Alpha Edition)Run Time: ~8.5 minutes
Description: This past Fall you may remember that Topher, myself and a few other people shot a Fourth Squashing of America. The idea for this year was that Topher and I would each edit together our own versions of the video. Well, you've already seen my version - so with that I'm happy to introduce Topher's version. Just a quick warning: Topher's version is a little less family friendly than mine.

For those unfamiliar with The Squashing of America series, think "Insomniac" only with Zucchini. You can view the Prime Edition of the Fourth Squashing, The Third Squashing of America or The Second Squashing of America if you want more. You can't have the first one though. That one has been intentionally destroyed by those responsible... Yes, it was that bad.
Not Purple
Not PurpleRun Time: ~2 minutes
Description: Not Purple is best summed up as...

Not Purple.

The song is "Staff Meeting" by Lt. Snorkel... or in other words, me. I produced the song during a No Brand Con staff meeting, the sample being random bits I picked out of the ongoing discussion - including Josh's now infamous "Not Purple." You can download the MP3 of the song here.

Not Purple.
The Fourth Squashing of America (Prime Edition)
The Fourth Squashing of America (Prime Edition)Run Time: ~8 minutes
Description: As we did in the second and third installments, the Fourth Squashing of America takes you on a trip down Water Street in Eau Claire Wisconsin. We return to our roots, and give fresh produce to inebriated passersby, and look like idiots... but since we did it the weekend before Halloween this year, we actually sort of blend in.

For those unfamiliar with The Squashing of America series, think "Insomniac" only with Zucchini. This is the "Prime Edition" (Edited by Trae Dorn). A forthcoming alternate cut will also be released, edited by Topher Marohl.

Soundtrack provided by Happy Wednesday.
Happy Wednesday - Ride of the Belkies
Happy Wednesday - Ride of the BelkiesRun Time: ~3 Minutes
Description: "Ride of the Belkies" off of (my group) Happy Wednesday's online album "This Side of Awful." The melody (obviously) comes from Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries," and with the exception of the drum beat, all sounds heard in this song are produced by the human voice.

The footage used in the music video comes from the serials "Flash Gordon Conquers the Universe" Episode 1 and "Zorro's Fighting Legion" Episode 9. I recorded this song in an evening, after deciding it was perfect to fill the spot "Don't Leave Dead Birds Hanging From a Tree" left when it was dropped from the album.
To Slay Zombie Newton ft. Trae Dorn - Jello (Live)
To Slay Zombie Newton ft. Trae Dorn - Jello (Live)Run Time: ~2 minutes
Description: At the 2007 No Brand Con Variety show, we closed with my performing Jello with To Slay Zombie Newton. You may remember this particular song from the other version featured on this site. Poor Matt Biedermann, who usually sings this, can be seen in the background on the cowbell... poor, poor Biedermann...
The Absolute Boredom Song
The Absolute Boredom SongRun Time: ~1.75 minutes
Description: So, a while back on a Sunday, I was bored out of my mind... so I was messing around with my camera and ended up doing this weird little song. I considered not putting it online, but figured "What the heck..." So, enjoy this bizarre, original creation... I think...

This song is 100% me.
BOB and GIANT ROBOT Episode 3
BOB and GIANT ROBOT Episode 3Run Time: ~1 minute
Description: The finale of my three part (poorly) animated series. Find out what finally happens to Bob. If you thought parts one and two were bizarre... well... this is about the same.

Music by To Slay Zombie Newton and Lt. SNORKEL

Again, as stated in part one's notes, this was originally intended to be a three part minicomic, but I was mildly inspired to transform the finished artwork into a bizarre animation. Literally, this is just the comic frames with the occasional mouth animation...

...but I said that already.
BOB and GIANT ROBOT Episode 2
BOB and GIANT ROBOT Episode 2Run Time: ~1 minute
Description: Episode 2 of 3 in my bizarre (poorly) animated miniseries. Warning: This reveals my fairly dark sense of humor. Bob finally makes a decision...

...And you'll be asking yourself what the heck do I have planned for part three.

gain, as stated in part one's notes, this was originally intended to be a three part minicomic, but I was mildly inspired to transform the finished artwork into a bizarre animation. Literally, this is just the comic frames with the occasional mouth animation. This installment adds some music by "Lt. SNORKEL"... who is actually me. Sort of. Long story.
BOB and GIANT ROBOT Episode 1
BOB and GIANT ROBOT Episode 1Run Time: ~.75 minutes
Description: My first animated short, BOB and GIANT ROBOT tells the tale of... Bob and Giant Robot. Bob is Super-Bob, Discount Superhero. Giant Robot is... a Giant Robot. Sometimes these things aren't complicated. This is Episode one of this three part (very poorly) animated Miniseries.

The song is Amiga by To Slay Zombie Newton.

This was originally intended to be a three part minicomic, but I was mildly inspired to transform the finished artwork into a bizarre animation. Literally, this is just the comic frames with the occasional mouth animation. There are a total of eight different frames in the entire project...
Ridiculously Stupid Toy Battle
Ridiculously Stupid Toy BattleRun Time: ~1.5 minutes
Description: So, I was incredibly bored one night while sitting around my childhood bedroom, and decided to shoot some footage of a toy... which evolved into shooting this ridiculously stupid toy battle - hence the title. Three Beast Machines Transformers and a wind up snowman end up battling to the death... or something. This is really stupid - and you can't say I didn't warn you ahead of time.

The music is Mother '93 by Danzig.

I apologize to the world for making this. Really.

Please forgive me.
The Social Room Session - Used Cassette Tape
The Social Room Session - Used Cassette TapeRun Time: ~5 minutes
Description: A bunch of us were jamming in the K.T. Social lounge, and this ballad was improvised upon finding a Cassette Tape labeled "used" on the counter. Features Trae Dorn (doing a bad Neil Young impersonation) on vocals and "nose trumpet," Jake Russo on rhythm guitar and backup vocals, Guthrie Horgan on guitar and backup vocals, and a bunch of other people making random noises.
The Social Room Session - I Can't Read (Damn You McRib)
The Social Room Session - I Can't Read (Damn You McRib)Run Time: ~2 minutes
Description: This song was improvised one night in the K.T. Social Lounge. It features Trae Dorn on Vocals, Jake Russo on Guitar, Guthrie Horgan on backup vocals. It tells the tale of someone who can't read, and then must work at McDonalds... I know, very exciting.
The Social Room Session - Havana Nights
The Social Room Session - Havana NightsRun Time: ~2 minutes
Description: A bunch of us were goofing around, and this is what happened. Trae Dorn on vocals and "nose trumpet," Jake Russo on Guitar, Guthrie Horgan on backup vocals, and a bunch of people making other noises. The song is about... something. I don't know, it's improv.
Russo vs. Razor
Russo vs. RazorRun Time: ~5.5 minutes
Description: One man. A couple pairs of scissors. An epic. Jacob "Jake" Russo had a lot of hair - until the K.T. lobby was done with him. Actually, mostly we just shaved Jake's head and I thought it was a good idea to film it... I don't know, I find it mildly entertaining - well, that and Matej's reaction to Jake at the end just amuses me. Of course, I'm also easily entertained.

The soundtrack is Diggin' by the Seatbelts off of the Cowboy Bebop Movie Soundtrack.

This was a very interesting evening, but I really don't have anything else to really say about this video.
To Slay Zombie Newton - The Song We Wrote Last Night (Live)
To Slay Zombie Newton - The Song We Wrote Last Night (Live)Run Time: ~4.5 minutes
Description: From the October 2006 Live at Zombie House performance by Eau Claire area rock nerds To Slay Zombie Newton. "The Song We Wrote Last Night" is likely the band's most popular tune - but is often referred to as "That Ninja Turtle Song" or "We haven't gone crazy yet."
To Slay Zombie Newton - Jello (Live)
To Slay Zombie Newton - Jello (Live)Run Time: ~2 minutes
Description: From the October 2006 Live at Zombie House performance by Eau Claire area rock nerds To Slay Zombie Newton. "Jello" features former band member Ka-Thunc on vocals. It's very hard to describe - as it's a combination funk and scream fest...
The Second Squashing of America
The Second Squashing of AmericaRun Time: ~11 minutes
Description: So, after releasing the Third Squashing of America, we figured that we should... re-release the Second one. Topher shot and edited this back in 2004, and he deserves most of the credit - I just manage to act like an ass during it. It's a very different experience from the third - yet oddly similar. That, and I have really short hair and am growing my beard back when we shot this...

This marks my first involvement with the project, as I had not been involved in the first "Squashing." The First Squashing was a 1337porn production, and... isn't that good.
The Third Squashing of America
The Third Squashing of AmericaRun Time: ~9.5 minutes
Description: We go out and do the Eau Claire, WI bar crawl... in our own very special way. This may be the Third Squashing of America - but it's the first one we're showing anyone from the outside world. All in all, the most bizarre experience for anyone to really have.

The reason they're entitled "The Squashing of America" is because in the first two, we distributed fresh produce (including some Squash) to drunk people. That was the original plan this time as well, but as we ended up getting delayed by camera issues - we were unable to get to the supermarket. The house party stunt was cancelled as well due to safety (of equipment) concerns.
Peso Sings!
Peso Sings!Run Time: ~1.5 minutes
Description: Resurrected after some slight re-editing, "Peso Sings!" finally sees the light of day. View the commercial for this fictional collection of "classics," as performed by the unequalled talents of a slightly drunk Peso.

This was shot at MarsCon 2006, and was intended for release at NoBrandCon 2006. Unfortunately, the original edit was deemed "Not funny in the slightest" and the flow was terrible. With that in mind, the premise was scratched, and footage shot for it was turned into the previously released "Power of Peso." I came back to the footage while bored this summer, and redid several of the edits to make the thing work.

I think it turned out pretty well.
Not a Japanese Girl
Not a Japanese GirlRun Time: ~4.5 minutes
Description: So, during the talent show at NoBrandCon 2006 Vinnk, Peso, Neil and I did a little dance to the J-Pop song "Japanese Girl" by Hitomi. Inspired by this moment, Neil and I went out, shot some more footage, and came up with this.

The layers of J-pop references are pretty steep in this. The video itself is a spoof of various shots from the Hitomi music video, with brief moments spoofing the Hal Cali "Strawberry Chips (Remix)" video... and of course Vinnk back in his Mini Moni costume that we had seen earlier in "What the Heck is Wrong With Vinnk."

The music is (of course) "Japanese Girl" by Hitomi
Lesson Number 2
Lesson Number 2Run Time: ~3.5 minutes
Description: Where the Power of Peso left us with our first lesson, this picks up (using clips and footage from almost all of the previous TRHFilms, along with all of the footage that had found its way to the cutting room floor) with our second lesson.

This was never originally intended for wide release, as it doesn't use any original footage (anything in this film that you haven't seen in another TRHFilm is footage cut from another project). People kept asking for it though, as I did show it at NoBrandCon 2006. So, here it is. Yeah - that's all I got for this one.

The music is "Don't Stop Me Now" by Queen.
The Power of Peso
The Power of PesoRun Time: ~3.5 minutes
Description: So, I brought a camera to MarsCon 2006 when we were promoting NoBrandCon. A bunch of us went to karaoke... this is what happened. To sum it up best though: There are some lessons in life you have to learn the hard way - this is one of them.

See MarsCon 2006 convention report for more information about what happened that weekend.

The song is "Power of the Night" by... someone? I have no idea.
Duct Tape Boy: Living Legend
Duct Tape Boy: Living LegendRun Time: ~6 minutes
Description: This was created for NoBrandCon in 2006 as a celebration of everyone's favorite Discount Superhero Duct Tape Boy. The film emulates a Documentary style, and talks about many of Duct Tape Boy's adventures - including shooting himself 17 times and living in a cardboard box. Well, and it talks about how he smells pretty bad too.

The 2006 NoBrandCon theme was "No Brand Reunion" and I decided that Duct Tape Boy, the convention mascot/spokesthing needed to get an award given to him in Opening Ceremonies. Sadly, the file didn't get played until the Variety Show that year due to technical difficulties on our sound equipment (a shorted out adapter), but I think the film itself is pretty entertaining. Music swiped from Firefly and Serenity.
Important Business Men
Important Business MenRun Time: ~1 minute
Description: This is a very, very short piece. See, about a year ago a bunch of the OA guys showed up to the meeting in Business Suits and beat each other with plastic bats - calling themselves Ronald Kennedy. I can't really explain it, so I recorded some of it, and put it to music. In the end, this will all make sense. Or not.

I discovered this footage almost a year after I had shot it. I really didn't have any idea what I wanted to do with it, until I just randomly started editing the clips together one night. Once I figured out an idea, it only took a half an hour to finish. Technically then, this was the first film I shot, even though it was edited after quite a few films had been placed online. The music is "Clubbed to Death" performed by Rob Dougan.
The Tragedy of Willie
The Tragedy of WillieRun Time: ~4.5 minutes
Description: At the 2005 Otaku Anonymous F***mas party, I was given a large, frozen Alaskan Salmon. I promptly named it Willie, and Topher and I decided it needed to be set free. This film shows what happens as Topher and I attempt to give it the proper last rites, with some help from Steve for moral support. This video proves the old adage: funerals are damned funny.

As of this writing, this is my favorite short film I've made to date. A mild fictionalization has occured in the story line, but it works well. Also, you will note that I mispell "Willie" as "Wille" at one point in the film. Minor note - The font is the same used in the opening credits to "Big Trouble in Little China" and "Law and Order" The music is "House of the Rising Sun" performed by The Animals.
Bad Monkey
Bad MonkeyRun Time: ~5 minutes
Description: Every year, Otaku Anonymous has a photo scavenger hunt. This year, the team I was on decided to take a monkey along for the ride... We get the feeling Monkey didn't like the ride. If you've ever wanted to see a stuffed monkey get the snot kicked out of it, then this is the video for you.

This has by far turned out to be the most offensive video I have ever produced. Seriously, there is a line in this film that makes me cringe every time I watch it again, and I wrote the thing. In the end though, I still find it funny. I mean, it's just a stuffed animal - and we do love what's left of him.

The music is "Crystal Ship" performed by X.
A One Minute Guide to International Relations
A One Minute Guide to International RelationsRun Time: ~1 minute
Description: Created as a visual aid for a speech class, this is presented as a "One Minute Educational Film." I might make more of these, I might not... it all depends. In any case, people mostly just like this one for KaJe's yelling at the end.

Originally I intended to make a series of these, and have a whole section dedicated to "One Minute Films." The idea fell through, mostly because it requires a much more scripted approach than most things I do. This is, as of this moment, the only film I've made where I knew what the heck I was doing before I even took the camera out.
What the Heck is Wrong With Vinnk?
What the Heck is Wrong With Vinnk?Run Time: ~3.5 minutes
Description: This is a short tribute to something strange that Vinnk decided to do at No Brand Con 2005. What is that you ask? Dress up as a member of Mini Moni. Yeah, that's pretty damned weird if you ask me.

This has turned out to be one of the most popular videos on this site. Vinnk apparently has quite a following. 90% of this comes from No Brand Con 2005, but some shots were lifted from the now defunct 1337porn.net, which Vinnk is a member of.

The music is "Strawberry Pie" by Mini Moni if anyone was curious.
